Dizzy's Descendants Bring the Bop

Sheesh! Guys! I wonder if Mr. Friedwald's sour comments about Ms. Gambarini's (myriad, astonishing, soul-boggling) talents as a jazz vocalist have anything to do with his repeatedly having asked her out once upon a time only to get shot down? Note to Editors everywhere: check out your (cough) expert columnists' biases and sordid, hidden-in-the-heart motivations before siccing them on unsuspecting and deserving-of-much-better luminaries. Not that Friedwald's ink can sully Gambarini. Oy, Will: grow up!

A former friend,

Elizabeth Boleman-Herring
