In its largest donation ever, the Harvard Business School Club of Greater New York will donate more than $1 million to five local nonprofit groups and business school scholarships, the club announced yesterday.
Five organizations that focus on education will receive $180,000 each: Village Academics, Harlem Educational Activities Fund, Studio in a School and Arts Connection, and PENCIL, or Public Education Needs Civic Involvement in Learning. The alumni group will also provide $200,000 in need-based scholarships to MBA students at Harvard Business School.
With more than 13,000 members, the Harvard Business School Club of Greater New York is the largest business school alumni club. The group connects alums to nonprofit board positions where they provide consulting and business advice for more than a dozen nonprofit organizations in the city.
