Lincoln Center Gets the Bergdorf Goodman Windows Treatment

Two first-time attendees to the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards tonight will be the president of Lincoln Center, Reynold Levy, and his wife, Elizabeth Cooke Levy. Now that Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts will be the site of the Fashion Week (starting in September), you might see more arts administrators making the rounds in the fashion world. I think George Steel and Andre Leon Talley will get along famously.

Helping to cement the connection between Lincoln Center and high fashion, and honoring Lincoln Center's 50th anniversary, the constituents of the performing arts center on the West Side are being highlighted in the windows of Bergdorf Goodman. The project has many high points, including placing New York City Opera and the Metropolitan Opera in the same window. Wouldn't it be great if these two organizations found ways to collaborate and help the art form?

Design-wise, we were impressed by the drama of the grand piano paired with a mannequin in an Oscar de la Renta gown (hmm... I wonder if performers will start to upgrade their stage wardrobes with the fashion world at their doorstep twice a year):
