IMG_7832web.jpg Frank Gehry-inspired decorations and furniture made of cardboard transformed a parking garage on the West Side piers into a chic party room for the Guggenheim Museum. Credit goes to David Monn for making the gala a green affair. The tables, placemats, candle holder covers, centerpieces, and of course the ceiling coverings were all made of cardboard. The food, from Le Cirque, did not taste of cardboard. And the $4.4 million raised certainly didn't taste of cardboard. The special gift was a pillow, which was appropriate since it was a late night. Most funny sight: limo-length go-carts equipped with fur blankets lined up to pick up guests from the party and take them to the pier entrance next to the West Side highway. What will Mr. Monn dream up for next year?
