webIMG_4536.jpg Last night the Metropolitan Opera held a small reception for the new exhibit at the Gallery Met, the gallery's first solo show: "Stage Fright" by Argentine artist Guillermo Kuitca. The red walls are covered with small works on paper and large collages, and drawings. There are psychedelic reimaginings of floor plans of the world's opera houses and a series "The Flying Dutchman" created from Kuitca's set design for Wagner's opera. Those who attended the reception included: the artist's dealer, Angela Westwater of Sperone/Westwater; Marlene Hess and James Zirin; Daniel Shapiro and Agnes Gund; James Marcus; Peter Gelb, Christine Hunter, and the artist, who is pictured above, far left. The exhibit runs through November 1.
