Brian Reyes put his best foot forward on the runway this afternoon with a collection that shows influences from the star designers he has worked under: Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, and Oscar de la Renta. There were sleek and beautiful looks such as a copper landscape brocade shift dress, a jet black crystal razor back dress with split feather hem, and a silver and gold sequin dress with black chiffon detail. And if one has to wear skinny, slim pants next fall, they might as well be cashmere pique leggings, which Mr. Reyes is calling track pants. The designer also likes playing with pouffiness: such as in a black moire cloque down jacket, trench coats with big shoulders, and necklines decorated with what looked to be shoulder pads - on the outside. There's fun and art here. Standout fabric: cashmere, wool. Standout prints: the violet and red shirtdress, the kelly green animal-print trench coat.
