Madonna Recruiting McCartney's Divorce Lawyer?by Zoe Strimpel
Always trust the rumors. After months of tabloid whispers and denials from her camp, it appears that Madonna is taking steps to negotiate a divorce from Guy Ritchie, her husband of seven years. Word in legal circles — according to the Times of London — is that she has recruited Fiona Shackleton, the lawyer who represented Paul McCartney in his split from Heather Mills. It is thought that another firm, Withers, had been contacted as it has prior dealings with Madge and Guy over taxes, but it passed on her case because of that. Mr. Ritchie is said to be seeking advice from a smaller, less well-known firm. Madonna's spokesman has declined to comment, but it certainly seems that her days as the long-term wife and partner are nearly over. Whoever will she choose next? Perhaps it's back to the boy toys; she could do worse than take a leaf out of Demi Moore's book.
