UPDATE: Senator Clinton's schedule seems to have been reshuffled and the event described below is now set for the previous evening, February 20, at 7 P.M. Still $50 and up. Still women. No word yet on whether it will be at Hunter or somewhere else. Stay tuned.
Original post follows:
New Yorkers who don't mind getting up early and have a spare $50 will have a chance to see Senator Clinton next week as she takes a break from intense campaigning in the states yet to hold primaries.
Mrs. Clinton is set to appear next Thursday at the Hunter College Auditorium on 69th Street for what is billed as a gender-themed event, "New York Women for Hillary Make History with Senator Hillary Clinton." Doors will open at 7:30 A.M. for the unusual 8 A.M. fund-raiser.
An invitation obtained by The New York Sun shows tickets starting at $50. Initially, organizers said the cheapest seats would be $100. Those who have already maxed out by giving $2,300 to the Clinton Campaign can get in by roping in a couple of new donors.
It's worth noting that Hunter College started out in 1870 as a teachers' college for women. Per Wikipedia, the Manhattan Campus went co-ed in 1964.
On a conference call last week, aides to Mrs. Clinton said she'd be holding fund-raisers in the coming weeks in other states that have already voted, including California, Massachusetts and New Jersey.
