Political Video of the Day: Log Cabin Republicans for Romney (Not Really)by Ryan Sager
The Log Cabin Republicans have launched an ingenious ad, which will be running on Fox News nationally and in Iowa: Note what the ad doesn't touch: gay issues. It sarcastically endorses his once-upon-a-time support for abortion rights, opposition to the NRA, and bashing of Ronald Reagan. But, on the Log Cabiners' key issue, gay rights, it doesn't highlight his gay-friendly positions from his 1994 senate race against Ted Kennedy. Why not? Simple, really. They don't want to draw attention to who's attacking Mr. Romney. After all, an attack from the Log Cabin Republicans would probably help Mr. Romney with some conservatives — much better to keep the focus on abortion. Related Topics: GOP Primary |
