GOP: Down the YouTubes

The Republican presidential candidates could hardly do anything stupider than skipping the CNN YouTube debate after the Democrats stepped up to the plate earlier this week. Only John McCain and Ron Paul — brothers in desperation — have signed up so far. Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney have yet to do so. No word yet on Fred Thompson.
Now, granted, there were some silly moments (and to that I say: so what?). But, as I argued at the time, it was also the best debate so far this cycle.
Why would the Republicans come along now and let the world know they're not men enough to stand toe-to-toe with the global warming snowman? The Democrats rightly caught hell when they decided they were to delicate to go to a Fox News debate. Shying away from CNN because it might not be the most friendly forum would be equally ludicrous.
