We here at NYSunPolitics.com were among the first to raise a red flag about Judith Giuliani, and the liability she is likely to be to her husband's campaign.

Well, part damage control (and part damage), it seems the happy couple has now taken to ABC's "20/20" — specifically an interview with Barbara Walters — to work on introducing the Mrs. to America. The interview will air Friday night (that's tomorrow) at 10 p.m. EDT.

The headline, so far, out of what's been leaked about the interview by ABC is that Mr. Giuliani said he would be comfortable having his wife attend cabinet meetings.

"If she wanted to. If they were relevant to something that she was interested in. I mean that would be something that I'd be very, very comfortable with," Mr. Giuliani said, when asked about the topic.

"If he asks me to, yes," Mrs. Giuliani said, asked the same question. "And certainly in the areas of health care."

The couple also addressed the former Ms. Nathan's role in Mr. Giuliani's divorce from his second wife, Donna Hanover.

"No, she was not," Mr. Giuliani said, when asked if his current wife was the cause of his divorce from his second. "I tried to keep that all as private as possible. ... I think I should be very, very clear, that she was not the cause of the break up in any way at all."

(I would note his use of the word "breakup" as opposed to "divorce." I think social conservatives will pay attention to that.)

We'll all have to wait for the full interview. But I suspect this may just be part II of a saga (that is, the saga of Judy causing problems for Rudy) that will have many more parts to come.
