New Gershwin Musical Will Star Harry Connick Jr.

Harry Connick Jr. will return to Broadway in "Nice Work If You Can Get It," a new Gershwin musical beginning previews in February 2009 and opening the following month. A Grammy and Emmy award winner, as well as a two-time Tony Award nominee, Mr. Connick will appear as a Long Island playboy in a comedy filled with bootleggers, gold diggers, and songs by George and Ira Gershwin. Joe DiPietro ("I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change" and "All Shook Up") is writing the book.

Tony winner Kathleen Marshall, who last worked with Mr. Connick on the 2006 Tony-winning production of "The Pajama Game," will direct and choreograph. A venue has yet to be announced.
